Find out more about online PrEP from SH.UK
Preventx is now able to offer online PrEP through SH.UK, our fully integrated online sexual health service.
The pathway and triage for this service builds on years of experience working closely with NHS clinicians and local authority commissioners to develop our STI triage and pathway. Preventx’s medical directors, experienced sexual health clinicians Dr Vanessa Apea and Dr John White have both been involved in the development of the service pathway. The service is delivered in partnership with LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor and The Doctor’s Laboratory (TDL).
Why offer PrEP online?
There’s been huge progress in the prevention of new HIV diagnoses over the past few years, with wider access to testing and the availability of PrEP in sexual health clinics. However, there is still unmet need for PrEP across the UK which could result in unnecessary, preventable HIV transmissions. In some areas of the country people face a 1 month wait for a PrEP appointment.
With proven experience of reaching underserved populations through its online postal self sampling services, SH.UK’s PrEP service provides a safe, efficient and cost effective way to offer PrEP to people who might be at risk of acquiring HIV.
BASHH symposium: ‘Online PrEP Services and the path to Zero HIV Transmissions’
Our BASHH symposium will explore the research and thinking that has informed the development of this service and how online PrEP services can help reach the 2030 HIV zero transmissions target. Delegates will hear about data and research that’s informed the service, and from a number of guest speakers including PrEPster at The Love Tank and leading UK sexual health commissioners and clinicians.
If you would like a copy of the slide deck from the symposium or would like a demo of the new service, please pop your details below.
